Adam and Lara met in October, 2007 at a pig roast in San Francisco. Adam and his roommate John Stanley roasted a pig. Adam's college pal Brooke Stein attended the event, and dragged her roommates Sam Bartelloni and Lara Cirkovic with her. Lara and Sam left early, pre-pig-consumption. Adam brought them pig sandwiches the next day. Unbeknownst to Adam, pig sandwiches were the most direct route to Lara’s heart.
Well, it was more of an indirect route. Adam had actually just bought himself a first class ticket with priority boarding to Lara's “Friend Zone.” Looking back, it was a good thing. Adam tried several Busch-league pickup lines on Lara, but luckily Lara never wrote him off.
Soon, Adam and Lara were spending nearly all of their free time together. After thoughtful consideration, the two finally professed their love for each other during a 70's themed Mexican party bus bar crawl.
Since their meager Bay Area beginnings, Adam and Lara have lived in a van in New Zealand, lived the easy life on Easey Street in Melbourne, Australia, and solidified their permanent hipsterdom in Austin, Texas. Their three common loves are music, whisky and their dog Buddy Franklin.
On July 24th, 2014, Adam proposed to Lara while bobbing up and down in the Adriatic Sea. The two were on a trip to the Balkans with Adam's high school friends John Howald and Mike Hurster. Once they got to Croatia, Adam popped the question during a swim at the beach near Dubrovnik where Lara's father George learned how to swim as a child.
It was probably the best proposal ever. If Adam had gotten jittery and accidentally dropped the ring it would have been the worst proposal ever. Thankfully, the only thing he fumbled was his monologue.
